PXG Introduces New University Program Supporting Men’s & Women’s Golf Teams
Nationally Ranked NCAA D1 Schools & Coaches Sign with PXG
Scottsdale, AZ (September 20, 2017) – PXG has expanded its interest in elite players to include top student-athletes and coaches at six NCAA D1 universities. By providing tour-level fittings and golf equipment, PXG will support talented collegiate golfers in their pursuit of excellence. Cal Golf, Duke University, The University of Oklahoma, The University of Oregon, Southern Methodist University and Vanderbilt University are among the programs that have penned deals with PXG thus far. The relationship provides equal support to both the men’s and women’s golf teams and allows for up to 10 full sets of golf clubs to be custom fitted for each. “PXG’s master fitter was awesome and meticulous in getting the right equipment into our players' hands,” SMU women’s golf coach Jeanne Sutherland stated. “That might not seem unusual, but in all my years of coaching women's golf, it's an honor my teams haven't been afforded prior to now. I'm very impressed with the commitment that Bob Parsons is making to women's golf.” “It is beyond me that the men’s and women’s golf teams are frequently afforded different levels of support,” said PXG founder Bob Parsons. “At PXG, we make golf clubs for golfers. Period. The schools we choose to partner with will receive equal sponsorship for both the men’s and women’s teams.” The addition of a University Program is a natural next step in the evolution of PXG, which has experienced explosive growth since introducing its groundbreaking technology just a few years ago. With a current roster of 18 tour professionals, the PXG University Program further solidifies the company’s commitment to support players at all levels. “PXG is proud to support the future of the game with the best performing equipment in the industry,” Parsons added. “PXG is committed to excellence,” Duke women’s golf coach Dan Brooks stated. “They’re dead set on building the best clubs in the world, no matter what it takes, and matching those clubs to the player’s needs better than anyone else does. We are fortunate to be partnering with a company so dedicated to getting it right!" “My team and I have been incredibly impressed with PXG equipment,” shared University of Oregon men’s golf coach Casey Martin. “From the moment we hit the clubs, we could tell they are different and better. They are the perfect combination of length, forgiveness and feel. I am so excited for this relationship because I know it will help my team.” University of Oklahoma men’s golf coach Ryan Hybl echoed Martin’s sentiment. “Equipment is a vital part of our game and the numbers speak for themselves. Our guys are really excited for the opportunity to grow their games with their new PXG clubs.” To learn more about PXG golf equipment or the University Program, visit www.PXG.com.
