This event is second to none, including a Champions Dinner (for past winners), a Pairings Party and two entertaining and action packed days of golf, camaraderie, food and entertainment. Here's a breakdown of the daily schedule.
Thursday, June 2, 2016 - Champions Dinner
On Thursday night I invite Keith Thompson, Matt Rust and Mike McGreevy to join me for the inaugural Champions Dinner. The guest of honor this year will be Toby Baldwin, your #TheOven15 champion. Year over year these same golfers will be invited to the Champions Dinner regardless of playing in the event. Details on where and when are coming soon.
Friday, June 3, 2016 - Pairings Party
The 2016 pairings party will return to Four Peaks Grill & Tap!!!
During the pairings party we will do a blind draw for all foursomes for both days. Chances are you won’t play with the same people on Saturday that you do on Sunday. Unless you are John K. M. Henry. He pretty much played with the same guys all weekend last year! This is a fun relaxed atmosphere where you can get to know others golfers, drink some good local craft beer, and eat some of the best brewery food in the Valley.

Saturday, June 4, 2016 - Tournament Round 1
On Saturday morning we will play 18 holes on Cholla at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club. Versus tee times, there will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun so we can all finish at the same time. After golf we will meet in the We-Ko-Pa Grille for a delicious Mexican buffet lunch. The buffet is included in your entry fee, so eat up! A full menu will be available as we get closer to the event, but trust me… You won’t leave hungry.
After we finish lunch you will be dismissed to return to your room, freshen up and get ready for a night of gambling in the casino. Also included in your entry fee is $20 in slot play, so win big!!! Saturday night will be able sharing each other’s company, bonding, gambling, drinking, and, well… Having fun! There might be a few more surprises for Saturday coming soon. Can anyone say, “sponsored happy hour?”
Sunday, June 5, 2016 - Tournament Round 2
On Sunday morning we will play 18 holes on Saguaro at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club. Again, versus tee times there will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun so we can finish with plenty of daylight. After golf we will meet outside on the veranda between the golf shop and the restaurant for a cocktail reception featuring a variety of appetizers and complimentary cocktails/beer/wine. Please note that each golfer will get 2 free drinks valued up to $7 each.
As we eat and drink, I will pass out the awards (winners, closest to the pin, long drive, etc.) and I will hopefully announce dates and courses for #TheOven17. Feel free to stay and hang out all you want… I will be there until the last man, or woman, leaves. Let’s make #TheOven16 the best event yet. FORE!
