The Sea Pines Resort Ideal for July's 'Family Golf Month'

(HILTON HEAD, S.C.) – The Sea Pines Resort – Hilton Head's most celebrated golf and leisure retreat – announces multiple green fee and package options ideal to celebrate July’s “Family Golf Month” on its Heron Point by Pete Dye and Ocean courses. Recently modified by legendary course designer Pete Dye, Heron Point is resplendent with knotted hardwoods, lagoons and salt marshes teeming with wildlife. With seven sets of tees on each hole including junior tees, golfers of any and all abilities can enjoy the superb 18. The Ocean Course is truly “family-friendly” and offers a rarity on Hilton Head Island — an actual oceanfront hole set against a dune ridge with an idyllic seascape as a backdrop. For families taking advantage of the resort’s value-packed Escape Package, children 12 and younger enjoy free golf when accompanied by an adult. Nightly rates start at $140 for a two-bedroom / two-bathroom villa (taxes not included). The package features numerous extras including a $100 resort credit redeemable for golf, dining and activities. For $205 per player (through Sept. 20), the “Ultimate 36” offers a multi-course savings of 15% with a round on both Heron Point and Ocean courses as well as complimentary warm-up range balls. Both layouts additionally offer afternoon rates (after 12 p.m.) starting at $80 on the Ocean Couse and $99 on Heron Point. The Ocean Course also has a twilight rate of $65 after 3 p.m. “Long summer days are ideal to take full advantage of our excellent golf rates and fun to play courses,” says Cary Corbitt, Vice President of Sports and Operations. “We pride ourselves on our standing as one of the premier family vacation destinations in the U.S.” The Plantation Golf Club, which opened in spring of 2014, was recently named “New Clubhouse of the Year” by Golf Inc. magazine. It serves the Heron Point and Ocean courses as well as its outstanding Golf Learning Center. The Sea Pines Resort’s full array of activities additionally includes tennis with 21 clay courts, five miles of sweeping Atlantic seascapes, and 15 miles of leisure paths for biking and hiking. Nearby Harbour Town Yacht Basin is ideal for sightseeing as well as featuring superb dining and shopping options. For more information: www.seapines.com, 866.561.8802.
