Visit Pensacola Announces the 13th Annual Boo Fest

Visit Pensacola announces the 13th Annual Boo Fest: a high energy golf tournament hosted by one of the PGA’s most colorful players

Celebrity guest appearances at a charity golf scramble and evening concerts top the list of events during the official Boo Weekley Charity Golf Tournament this July

PENSACOLA, FLA. - Known for his southern drawl, camo attire and country-boy charm, local PGA golfer Thomas Brent “Boo” Weekley of Milton, Fla., nicknamed after Yogi Bear’s sidekick, Boo Boo Bear, will once again host his fun-filled charity golf tournament and festival in late July.

For the thirteenth consecutive year, BooFest returns to the Pensacola Bay Area. This year, in order to accommodate more people, the evening performances will be held at the Pensacola Bay Center on Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, July 25, at 7 p.m.

“We started this in Milton 13 years ago. Over the years it’s moved around from Brewton, Ala., to Navarre, Fla., and now to Pensacola,” said Toggy Pace, tournament director for Boo Fest. “We have had nothing but great support from the Pensacola area. The community has truly helped us grow this event year after year.”

The golf scramble and nightly events provide direct access to PGA star Boo Weekley, former Atlanta Braves All-Star player Chipper Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles and comedian Larry The Cable Guy.

The afternoon Boo Weekley Charity Golf Scramble will be held Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, at the Pensacola Country Club. A sponsorship is required to secure a spot in the charity golf tourney.

Friday night’s event at the Pensacola Bay Center will feature silent and live auction items and live entertainment by the Glenn Parker Band and Wes Loper Band.

The crowds will be rolling in laughter when Larry The Cable Guy takes the Pensacola Bay Center stage during Saturday night’s performances. Also taking the stage are ACC Award-nominated singer-songwriter Lance Miller, Nashville singer-songwriter Rob Hatch and country singer-songwriter Ira Dean – the former bass player for Trick Pony.

Tickets for the Pensacola Bay Center evening events are available through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices range from $40 to $65 and are good for both nights.

All proceeds raised throughout the Boo Fest weekend will benefit local charities.

“Boo strongly believes that all funds collected during this event should stay within the Northwest Florida area,” said Pace.
